Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japanese SNS influencers introduced 2017 Colorful Festival through social network in realtime.
Daegu City officials held the invitation for 4 days from 25th with 8 SNS influencers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan in order to promote foreign travelers toward Colorful Festival.
4 Taiwanese(柯怡如, 蕭伊庭, 張香香, 劉奕廷), 2 Hong Kongers (譚淇淇, 李美琪) and 2 Japanese(吉岡詩織, 下司倫子). Specialized in ‘Traveling Korea’, these 8 SNS influencers hold about 1.8 million followers and average ‘Like’ per post reached 6 thousand. Espcially, 張香香 from Taiwan holds 560 thousand Facebook followers and 440 thousand Instagram followers.
The invitation included schedule of traveling between Daegu-Seoul and Daegu-Gyeongbuk due to inter-city transportation information is crucial as number of foreign independent tour(FIT) increased.
Separated in 2 groups, influencers began their journey in Seoul and Gyeongju. The travel was through public transportation in order to promote Daegu, the center of Korea local travel and transportation.
Ms. Keoiru from Taiwan said “This was the first time using public transportation though traveled Korea several times but I can strongly recommend since it’s very convenient and fast”
SNS influencers began schedule for viral marketing the following day. Influencers have posted their journey through SNS, traveling Daegu medical tour, Modern Street Tour, Kim Gwang Seok Street and E-world.
Experiencing medical tour was being held at a dermatology(All for Skin, Leading doctor : Min Bok Gi) located at Dongseongro. Influencers underwent skin care and laser treatment after a short briefing about dermatologic technique of Daegu. Ms. Tamkiki from Hong Kong said, “Korean dermatology is famous among Hong Konger women, but mostly only know Gangnam. I’ve never realized that various medical experiences are available in Daegu. I really want to visit again.”
The influencers visited Daegu Colorful Festival and enjoyed parade, art market and food trucks on 27th. They mentioned that the parade was the most impressive since so many citizens joined together and also enjoyed with various performances and food.
The influencers picked Kim Gwang Seok Street the first, and E-world the second as tourist spots to be introduced to foreigners and also mentioned ‘Napjak Mandu’ and ‘Jjimgalbi’ were the most delicious. During the invitation, SNS influencers have updated their SNS with '#韓國旅行'(Travel Korea), '#大邱旅行'(Travel Daegu). The content about Apsan Observatory was the most highlighted one with over 11 thousand ‘Like’.
張香香, holding 560 thousand facebook followers said “Majority of Taiwanese only know about Seoul such as Myeongdong or Dongdaemun and I’m really glad to have chance to introduce tourist spots and festival through SNS.” and also said, “I’ll try my best to introduce Daegu where full with place to enjoy like E-world, Kim Gwang Seok Street.”
Kwon Young-jin, the mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City said, “The invitation of SNS influencers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan became the opportunity to elevate Daegu Colorful Festival into global festival.” and also said, “SNS influencer invitation will also promoted in 2017 Daegu Chimac Festival to show the festival, superior medical service and our attractive tourism attractions to the world.”
