Two festivals representing Daegu, Colorful Festival and CHIMAC Festival


As we see through La Tomatina and Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, each city presents its unique festivals. Let me introduce ‘Colorful Festival’ and ‘Chimac Festival’, the festivals of Daegu welcoming visitors with fascinating events and contents.









Colorful Festival is the first one to go. On the street of Gukchaebosang-ro, various concerts and performances fill the air of May.

At Colorful Parade which is the main event of festival, parade performance teams from all around the world compete to win the prize of 30 million Won.



Street Art Festival and Artwork Marketplace are also available during the festival. Enjoy the performances of expert performance team with tasty street food.





Korean fried chicken is the one you should never miss when traveling Korea. Here at Chimac Festival, fried chicken and best partner beer are main theme of the festival. Over a million people enjoyed the festival last year.

The festival is being held around Duryu Ball Park with stage performances of K-Pop singers and exhibitions will highlight the festival.

Daegu Colorful Festival which held for 2 days from May 27th, will be introduced through SNS influencers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Daegu City officials have invited 8 foreign influencers for the promotion of Daegu Colorful Festival and tourist spots which held for 4 days. This invitation was to promote foreign visitors to join the festival and for diversity of tourism industry. The invitation included schedule of traveling between Daegu-Seoul and Daegu-Gyeongbuk due to inter-city transportation information is crucial as number of foreign independent tour(FIT) increased.
